Specifications
Titanium Neck Flat Welding Flange is a flange designed for pipe connections where a flat face is welded to the pipe, typically without the need for a raised face or groove. It is often used in industries requiring high resistance to corrosion and high temperatures. <br/>
Titanium Neck Flat Welding Flange is a high-performance, corrosion-resistant flange made from titanium, designed for fillet welding, offering a good balance of titanium's material benefits at a slightly lower cost and complexity than a full titanium weld neck flange.
1.Material: High-quality titanium, commonly in grades such as ASTM B348 Gr. 2, Gr. 5, or Gr. 9, depending on the strength and corrosion resistance requirements of the application.
2.Flange Type: Flat face welding flange (FF flange), featuring a flat face to ensure proper sealing when welded to the pipe.
3.Dimensions:
● Nominal Pipe Size (NPS): Available in various sizes ranging from 1" (DN 25) to 36" (DN 900), with the possibility of custom sizes for larger or specialized applications.
● Flange Thickness: Varies based on the pipe size and pressure rating, typically ranging from 0.25" to 2" or more, depending on the specific pressure class.
● Neck Length: Typically ranges from 1.5 to 3 times the pipe diameter, depending on the requirements of the pipeline system and welding needs.
4. Design Standards
These define the physical shape, sizes, bolt patterns, and tolerances.
● ASME B16.5 - Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings: NPS ½ through NPS 24.
● The primary and most universally used standard. It covers all standard pressure classes (150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, 2500)
It defines the "Slip-On" flange type, which is the dimensional basis for the "Neck Flat Welding" style.
Specifies face types (Raised Face - RF, Flat Face - FF, Ring-Type Joint - RTJ).
● ASME B16.47 - Large Diameter titanium Flanges: NPS 26 through NPS 60.
Used for flanges larger than 24 inches. It has two series: Series A (MSS SP-44) and Series B (API 605).
● EN 1092-1 (European Standard)
The European equivalent, specifying flanges with PN (Pressure Nominal) ratings (e.g., PN10, PN16, PN40, PN100) and Form D (for slip-on flanges with a hub).
5.Pressure Rating: Available in different pressure classes, such as Class 150, 300, 600, 900, or higher, as per ASME B16.5 or API standards. The pressure rating determines the maximum pressure the flange can handle safely.
6.Bolt Holes: Standardized bolt hole patterns based on ASME B16.5 or ASME B16.47, matching the flange size and pressure class. The number and diameter of the bolt holes are designed to ensure a secure and leak-free connection.
7.Surface Finish: The flange surface is typically smooth and flat, which aids in creating a secure weld when the flange is connected to the pipe.
8.Temperature Range: Titanium neck flat welding flanges are suitable for high-temperature applications, with titanium offering excellent resistance to oxidation and high heat.
9.Corrosion Resistance: Exceptional resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments, including seawater, acids, chlorides, and other aggressive chemicals. Titanium is particularly well-suited for use in chemical processing, marine, and high-performance industrial applications.
Application
Offshore & Marine (seawater cooling, ballast systems)
Chemical & Petrochemical (chlorine, bromine, acetic acid services)
Power Plant FGD (Flue Gas Desulfurization) scrubbers
Pharmaceutical & Bio-processing (CIP/SIP, high-purity lines)
Pulp & Paper (bleaching plants)
